I have always been fascinated with nature - from dragonflies and foxes, to herons and fields of wild
flowers. Spending time outdoors is a passion of mine. It is only in the past few years that I got
started in photography. I try to spend at least one hour a week outdoors taking pictures.
Nevertheless, I always have my camera with me during my comute to work which is the better part
of a half hour along a rural highway. Many of my pictures have actually been taken from my truck.
I love photographing birds, animals, and landscapes. It's a great way to capture the beauty that
surrounds us and to share it with others. On days that life's stresses get me down I look through my
pictures and it always puts a smile on my face. A simple cure for a "blue" day.

My wife and I are fortunate to live in the bush on a small lake in Northern Ontario. Rarely does a
day go by without seeing an animal or two. Deer, moose, bear, fox, coyotes, hares, flying squirrels,
red squirrels, chipmunks, muskrats, wolves, lynx, woodchucks, raccoons, porcupines, beaver, mink,
otters... all have been seen within walking distance from our home. We also have several feeders up
which attract many species of birds. The surrounding area - known as Rainbow Country or God's
Country - has beautiful landscapes with numerous lakes and streams. This provides numerous photo
opportunities. I try to show with every picture the beauty of our world, and the amazing creativity
God has.
Nature is something that we should all take the time to appreciate and learn about. Maybe then we
will understand and respect it's fragility and greatness.
